Okay, got my Yugma account going as well….where do they get these names? I have heard of this tool before and would like to try it out if anyone is interested. My computer was not very happy downloading it which made me a little nervous. However, I do absolutely everything on line and get no paper bills etc…. so I am not too worried. I figure if I am going to get a virus I will and no sense worrying about it. I am hoping while we are working together with it that my computer does not recognize it as an intruder trying to take over my identity and the whole process is problem free!! Wait and see.

Malicious applications are always a concern as they can make a lot of extra work cleaning up.
There are a few strategies that seem to help like
-not opening email attachments unless you asked for it and are sure you know who sent it,
-having a good virus checker and making sure that it automatically updates. I use AVG which is free but still seems to be better and more user friendly than a lot of the high priced proprietary tools.
I think you have the right attitude which is not to worry about it unduly. If we worry about it too much it keeps us from trying anything.
Hi Kim, I had to laugh re your comment about the names of these programs. No wonder people think we’re talking a different language. I can never figure out if it’s an acronym or an actual name.
I must admit some days I worry about viruses more than others. This morning I installed the new Adobe Reader 8.1.1 update because of a security warning. Sheesh, you never know where the next attack is coming from. I have an anti-virus program and a Blocker running to try and keep the “bad guys” away.
Yugma is really cool once you get it working, you are able to look at the other persons desktop and even make changes on it. As for the virus, just make sure you have a good program and never allow or open anything if you don’t know where it comes from.
Viruses are a way of the world, and like you said, if you get one after a concerted effort not to, then you’ll deal with it, right?? I have not tried Yugma yet either, so if you are avaiable, we could give it a try.
Been using Yugma for 6 months. Love it. No viruses. I actually met the top guys at the web 2.0 expo earlier in the year. I was really impressed. very focused on the simple idea of easy, universal, inexpensive. Works for me! Highly recommend. Also, I really like where they are going with the new version (works with Skype). I’m a big SKype fan also. The 2 are perfect together.
i use the yugma-skype all the time. i think it’s pretty cool. amazing that you can look or even take control of someone else’s computer if you’re not sitting in front of it. rock on!
